Beautiful China Public Transportation Journey: A Visit to Guiyang

On September 3, 2020, the third stop of the "Beautiful China Public Transportation Trip" and the "My Bus, My City" Public Transportation Development Experience Exchange Conference was held in Guiyang.

This event was jointly initiated by China Transportation News Agency and Yutong Bus, and received strong support from the Ministry of Transport, Guizhou Provincial Department of Transportation, Guiyang Municipal Transportation Commission, Guiyang Public Transportation Group, Zunyi Public Transportation Group, and others. Leaders, experts from Guizhou's traffic management departments and transportation research fields, and representatives from public transportation companies from various places gathered together to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing public transportation companies under the epidemic, share successful operation experiences, and provide new ideas and strategies to promote the sustainable development of public transportation.

Han Jianbo, Deputy Director of the Guizhou Provincial Department of Transportation; Han Shiyi, Deputy Director of China Transportation News Agency; and Fu Shenghua, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Yutong Bus, all expressed in their speeches that in the face of the challenges brought by the epidemic to public travel, the public transportation industry has risen to the challenge, overcome difficulties, and ensured the safety of people's travel. Looking to the future, it is believed that by deeply analyzing industry development trends and sharing excellent experience and strategies, more references can be provided for practitioners to solve development problems and expand operational ideas, thus achieving a good development situation of government satisfaction and approval, healthy industry development, and continuous enterprise progress.

Experts in the field of transportation research believe in their sharing on "The Development Situation and Countermeasures of the Bus Passenger Transportation Industry under Normalized Epidemic Prevention and Control" that the industry development should, on the basis of quickly restoring urban bus services, increasing financial support, and continuing to promote bus priority, further improve the construction of the bus emergency system. On the enterprise operation side, in addition to adhering to normalized epidemic prevention and control, it is necessary to accurately meet passenger needs, such as continuing to promote customized buses, and at the same time, to tap its own potential to achieve cost reduction and efficiency increase, and diversify the Business Scope.

With the upgrading of consumer demand, people's requirements for travel experience are getting higher and higher. Buses no longer only carry transportation tasks but also carry the aspirations of travelers for diversified services. In recent years, with the in-depth promotion of the construction of bus cities, a large number of excellent bus companies have emerged. During the event, Sun Lin, General Manager of Guiyang Public Transportation Group, and Zhang Yufei, Chairman of Zunyi Public Transportation, shared their experiences and exchanges. Through easy-to-understand case studies, they answered the question of how to promote the sustainable development of public transportation, a topic of common concern to the industry.

At the meeting, Hu Chaozong, senior manager of Yutong Bus, introduced in detail from different aspects such as product positioning, functions, and solutions, the value that Yutong's new-style intelligent networked bus products can bring to bus companies and society, depicting a beautiful prospect of intelligent buses changing travel.

In the roundtable forum session of the event, Jiang Guangning, Chairman of Neijiang Public Transportation Group; Cai Yongjun, General Manager of Yulin Public Bus Company; and Su Zhoukun, General Manager of Yutong Bus Southwest Public Transportation Business Division, and other guests conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on the opportunities and challenges facing bus companies under the epidemic, providing ideas and references for the industry to find opportunities and meet challenges through the collision of ideas.

The event also announced the supplementary list of the "My Bus, My City" Expert Advisory Committee and organized participants to experience Guiyang's characteristic bus routes on-site.

The first two stops of this "Beautiful China Public Transportation Trip" event were held in Lanzhou and Xining, respectively. Subsequent activities will be launched in many parts of the country, aiming to promote the healthy development of the public transportation industry and the beautiful travel of the public by building a communication platform for government departments, industry experts, and bus companies.
